This pottery class is designed for students 13 years and older, and covers a six-week term, with each class lasting 2-1/2 hours for adults and teens.

Beginning students can start with an introduction to basic hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab, and progress to basic wheel-throwing and trimming. Others choose to focus on wheel-throwing, trimming, altering and glazing throughout the entire 6 sessions. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have put a limit on the # of students per class and more tight guidelines on class start and end times.  As well, we are only open to adult students at this time.  Please call us to discuss options and start dates prior to coming in to a class.

All returning potters may select their own projects and work at their own pace, with guidance from our instructors as needed to further develop their skills.

Adult fees are $165.00 (new student)/$150.00 (continuing student) for the 6 sessions.  Teen fees (13-17) are $150.00(new student)/$135.00 (continuing student). Clay can be purchased for $40.00 for 25 lbs/$20.00 for 12 lbs (1/2 bag).  All other materials (glaze, underglaze, firings and use of equipment and tools) is included in the 6 week session cost.

  1. Hi I am interested in doing a party for my girl scout troop. They range from age 6 to 11. Is there an option for this? And what are the prices

    1. Stephanie..we’ve done many girl scout pottery badges. I can send you some pictures of projects via email if you provide it. Cost is based on the group size. Feel free to email or call us at 937-839-2529 if you need more information.

  2. My kids gave me an experience gift of 6 classes, to which I ended up adding several sessions to finish up projects. Mark and Amy are excellent instructors – creative, talented, helpful, kind, and unintimidating – teaching at the level and pace needed, with endless independent project options. The studio is well-equipped with tools, supplies, and finishes.
It is rewarding to empty my dishwasher and put 11 clean pieces of pottery in the cupboard to use again!
