Instructors

Hi, we are Mark and Amy McGraw.  We started our pottery journey back in 2014 and fell in love with the process. Mark had previous experience in high school, but work and family came first, so his dream of becoming a potter was put on hold.  Less than 10 years ago, as empty nesters, I thought a session at Muddy Hands Art Studio would be a great Birthday gift.  Needless to say, that 6 week course turned into more than one year of classes, a Brent pottery wheel, a Vulcan kiln, a remodeled basement to include a home studio and finally, the purchase of Muddy Hands.  Yes, this is now our passion.  We would love to share this passion with anyone who has a creative mind, has a few hours to spare each week and loves to get muddy!

Over the past 9 years, we have grown our tiny studio, moving from Canal St. to Lincoln Ave., doubling our space.  We currently hold 3 different weekly classes for those really wanting to learn the clay processes, both wheel and hand building.

  1. Hi, I wanted to buy my husband a class as a Christmas present. I do not see a way to do that on your website. Do I have to come to your shop and purchase? Can he take them whenever, like maybe in February when things are a little slower? Thank you.
